Weight Reduction

What's wrong with drilling holes, given the thick wall of the tubing? The frame strength is overkill.
Do you think an aluminum frame similar to LRD's would do the trick?

I think Scooby has big plans for the rest of his machine, now that he's got the engine part err, uhm, somewhat PERFECTED. When he gets this project done, I think he's gonna put the whoop down on just about anyone.

scooby wouldn't your bike twist a whimpy frame with the torque your bike throws out. That could be ugly
I would think you would do good too lighten up with some of the sugestions here and work on that clutch!!!
and also a 8-12 " swingarm i know everyone say's lighter lighter but with all youv'e done too that thing drag race is what its built to do. And have you seen wizards world record bike it's massive!! and your bike trimed as mentioned
should be in the same class. when people say lighter is better i say whoever you are wizard will be out at canyon 8-9 bring you skinny mini's and go for it BIGGER IS BETTER

if scoobys quad is 500lb. and i read 119hp that makes for 4.20 pounds per horse so i think he has that won also. if the sparks raptor was 350lb(guessing) and put out 80 horse it would be a 4.37pound to a horse, scooby wins, plus he has brakes, and a starter. but i think i read it made 67 horse so that comes out at 5.22. that leaves it up to rider size to change things

Lighten anything that rotates, rotating mass robs more HP than anything else, wheels, tires, clutches, sprockets, anything internal that turns, ect. Just a few ounces off any of the these would do more than taking pounds of weights off your frame.

Heres some thoughts, instead of going through the countless hours of drilling, try stripping the frame completly and have it acid dipped to evenly remove metal. That would take pounds off while maintaining a stock look and keeping it fairly strong. At FSW I believe the rule was OEM motor OEM frame. You want to make sure all the tubing is opened so the acid will etch evenly inside and can flush well. Then powder coat to your choice of color. All the bracing could be removed and replaced with much thinner stuff.
Look at going with a much smaller, lighter stator and ditch the lead acid battery, go with nicads or nimh in a small enough pack to still get the job done.
Do you need all five gears? Bombardier already saved you the trouble of tossing out the reverse gear. Can you get by without one coil and plug? Titanium tie rods shouldn't be too much. Can the starter be lightened or downsized? it looks like it came off an import car. Run less gas in the tank, can you get away with one quart less oil in the resevoir? I don't know how that system works. Is that a steel or alum radiator? A cutting disk can take the fender mounting ear off the front steering knuckles. Did anyone mention Ti footpegs?
