I've been trying to update my gallery...everytime I try to hit the "submit" button a windows explorer error comes up saying that I am limited to 36 characters on my description...I tried putting just one character and it still comes up??? No characters and it tells me that I must insert a description? Am I alone on this one? I'm starting to take this stuff personal, man!dbeck--HELP!

Jim,
Click on ADD PHOTO. Then you have to type in a description. Browse to an image file and the name of the image file can not be more than 36 characters. Select the image, then submit the page.

Dave:
As you can see I've got some photos already...Instructions prompt user to give photo description of 150 characters or less. Once I've typed in my (short) desription and go to click the "submit" tab I get a microsoft explorer error saying, "you must enter a description of 36 characters or less"????? And why do I have to enter my password three times to make it into the edit portion of My Page???
I don't know if I have a problem on my end or not...somebody please try to submit a new photo so I'll know if I've got a computer problem...

I just added some more photos and the first time I had the same error message. It was because the file name, next to the "browse" button was too long. It is longer when you have to access more folders to get to the file. So I copied the pictures I wanted to use from where they are on my computer and pasted them to just the C:\ drive. So then the file name next to "browse" was just "C:\picturename.jpg" and that was less than 36 characters so it allowed it each time (instead of "C:\documents and settings\my name\my documents\picturename.jpg", that was way too long). Hope that helps. If that doesn't make sense, let me know and I will try to explain it differently.

Well, I didn't have any problems putting my new photo on there but I did have to shorten the last address on one of my photos and I did the same as ATVGurl.
Now the pages just need to show up for approval. My camara is gone right now.

The path shouldn't be limited to 36. Just the name of the file. Some people had names like riding_in_the_Mud_on_sunday_with_friends_and_it_wa s_way_cool.JPG
That dog don't hunt! Keep the names short and sweet!

..."that dog won't hunt"...ha ha ha...too funny!
Thanks for walking me thru that ATVgurl. Worked well enough for me and I don't have to trip anymore Great action shots in your collection! Nice air! I like the looks of those locations, too.
BTW, I've put up some pics of Sand Mt...check 'em out!
