Funny thing about that quad they keep running tests and shootouts with it against Raptors and Z400's.Think there scared to run one against a DS.

same league lets compare the seats? oh that must of hurt i got to ride one and have to say i thought it was nice i raced my wife on her ds, she won but i thought i was in the race each time, the predator had a pipe lower gear and carb mount filter. the thing that i noticed was they have a rev limiter, reminded me of the ds stock. the suspension was nice seemed a lot like a ds, i like running into them at the dunes i like having more quads to race. my wife and i both rode the predator and enjoyed it but didn't want to trade our ds's for one, but all we do is ride the dunes. if we rode the tracks i might prefer the predator. we are going riding with some friends next weekend and one of the guys has one, he wants to run the ds's it should be fun

I'm a perfect candidate to compare them because I own both but unfortunitly, I have yet to even start the Predator. It went from the dealer, to my truck, to the garage and up onto the lift, it's been there three weeks now and hopfully, I'll be breaking it in on Monday. I bought the Predator because I was having trouble with the DS's size in the dirt. I set up the DS permenitly for the dunes and I'm biulding the Predator for the days in the dirt. I will tell you this, having tore both quads apart, the DS is built like a tank, my hat's off to Bombardier, without doubt, they offer the best biult bike on the market, hands down. I'll post how they compare hopefully this coming week. I'm not a pro rider but I can hold my own. Ride safe all, Putt

i honestly don't think there enough alike to compare, you have to ask what kind of riding your going to go and do most. and as much as it pains me to say it the magazines are most likely right a machine that doesn't do anything the best but does all o.k is most likely the suzuki. having one almost stock ds (gearing change and a cdi) i know the ds is a fast stock machine, and that would be same rider, because my 135lb. wife beats lots of machines, but our 280lb. friend has a hard time when we let him ride the stock one. i have to smile about race results on here because not often do people say i beat a machine but the guy weighted 250 and i go a buck150, i have to say the ds is the dune machine, but after that i might start looking at other machines. putt let us know how it goes with the two machines. and i'll let you know how we do at the dunes next weekend, there will be the predator, a 770 raptor, 686 raptor, cam and piston raptor, my ds stage two woods, maybe 2 1/2 head worked on by larry 30 percent more flow than stock my wifes ds and several geared and stock raptors,i can't wait.

I own both, and I agree with Sandman430 in that they are two TOTALLY different animals (that's why you may not see too many direct comparisons). To directly compare them is difficult, but here's my stab at it (keep in mind my Predator is bone stock with just over 1 hour riding time). The DS's strong points are as follows: Torque, comfort, stability, reliability (it is over engineered, and way over built), good looks. The DS's not so strong points are: Weight, low stock rev limiter, crappy cv carburator. The Predator's strong points are: Quickness (subjective), razor sharp handling, fast revving motor, aggressive looks. The Predator's not so strong points: Squirrely handling if you don't have the tire pressure/suspension set up correctly (still working on that), not that comfortable for long rides, same crappy cv carburator. Reliability for the DS is a known quality, the quad has won the Baja 1000, and the motor has been frequently raced in the legendary Paris-Dakar rally (BMW F650). Reliability.......... so far............ looks good for the Polaris. I believe it all boils down to what you want out of a quad. I really hope I never have to part with either of them.

Well explained by both Sandman and Gotta. I totally agree, two totally diffrent machines, if they wern't, why would I own both? I gotta admit though, quad of choice is and always will be, DS. Go Bomb! Cya, Putt
