RAD Bearing Housing
#1
I got my rad bearing housing. Looks likes a well built product, billet housing with tapered bearings and seals already installed. It also has a zerk fitting in the center of the housing. Obviously I want to pack the bearings with grease, Is there way I can pack them with grease with out removing the seals and bearings? Also the zerk fitting, how is it to be accessed once installed in the swing arm? Should a hole be drilled in the swing arm to gain access to the zerk? As far as initial grease packing, can I assembly the axle and housing together and tighten the nut, fill with a grease gun, then disassemble and install it all back in the swing arm?

All these questions you ask are the very reasons why factory bearing carriers don't come with a zerk. Nothing beats the sure fired inspection reliability of removal, cleaning, and repacking by hand.
Slip the axle in, grease the zerk, then assemble it all in the swingarm together. Any future greasings will require the removal of the carrier to access the zerk. You won't have to remove the axle, just slide the hub down far enough to pull the carrier out the other direction just enough to access the zerk. I wouldn't drill a hole in the swingarm to access it - you might be able to put a rubber plug in to keep trail crap out, but eventually it will get ripped off during a ride, and then you'll end up with all kinds of crap it in and cause more trouble than it was worth.

what high tower said plus the fact where will the zerk end up after your next chain adjustment that could end up being a lot of holes and i have the rad axel and carrier its great just disassemble and grease it it's rather fast any way's and welcome to the world of lighter!!!
