Well today was first day out at Canyon Offroad Park to watch the drags....and what a show it was to watch AZSand run his DS down that stretch, maybe someday mine will grow into a quad like his..hehe.The mods I seen today will keep me thinking for along time to come and most likely I will be dreaming about how to add some more horsies to my DS.But I think that place can become very addicting, and I think im in for it.Nice new place to play.

Rumn, we decided to head out there, but late. AZSand said that we just missed you. I ran his 440 down the track a couple times. I've never raced a tree before so I didn't do so well. I think my best was a 5.9 with a reaction of .997. I know it sucks but I won both races, not bad for my first to times on a bike I've never riden.

DSMike, it's a dirt track, they had it very wet so it was kinda holding people back a little.

SORRY I HAD A TYPO, I MEANT TO SAY 5.9

wouldn't wet give you better traction? or was it so wet that there wasn't any traction?

the wetness should let you tires dig in to get a better bite. all tracks wet there surfaces during races.

reaction times does not change your E.T. where you ran a 6.9 with a .997 reaction you would have still ran a 6.9 with a .500

That tree is intimidatng as hell, but Steves right, just block it out and concentrate on your launch, Then later you can perfect your RT.

Wet dirt is good for hook but it will slow your top end mph down

I fixed my post above, I meant to say 5.9.

Yeah the track was wet and hook up was really good but did seem to slow top speed down. His 440 had a wheelie bar on and was getting caught in the grooves of the big dirt drag cars and rails that went right before us. Plus I wasn't used to his stiff thumb throttle on that bike, took me a while to get used to it, by that time we packed up and left.

AZSand had too many paddles on his DS (10 or 12 I don't remember which) but he was having a hard time keeping the front end down all the way down the track. I think that his time were in the low 5's. I saw him run a 5.3 don't know if he had better runs before I got there or not.

i know that wet sand takes MPH down. last year i was running 4.9's @ 60MPH. i would be alot higher in MPH on a dirt track. theres a couple around i need to go try out to see. the times are usally alot faster also.

this sounds like a good place to have 4SW's 3. LOL so the clocks can say whos faster.
