You will loose traction. The further you put the tires behind you the less traction you have.

Handling will not be as precise on the trails. Not saying that it isn't bad, but you wont be able to blast through the trails.

If you like to jump, then you will have to re-valve your shock, unless you are one of those skinny little sh****.

Wheelies with an extended arm are harder, but you get a better view up higher.

On the handling, Would you rather take a long school bus through the tight trails, or would you rather ride the short bus.......

Do you have a 760 or are you getting one?

i currently have the 760 but have yet to ride it on hard ground (ice hear still) i wonder when adding 1-2 or 3" when will start to affect overall ride and handling. i think you can add just 1" or even 2". question? if adding a longer arm makes for less traction why have it? it comes off as a hot quad option whats the mystery?

With a longer swing arm, the more aggressive tire you can run.

Lets say that if your bike put out 100hp and you had stock swing arm, you would only want to run a very mild tire. If you had too aggressive of a tire, you would be watching to many airplanes in the sky.

You have to figure out how much tire you want to run. If you do mainly trail and duneing, then I would go with a shorter arm (+2) and less aggressive of a tire. If you want to kick a$$ at the drags, extend that puppy out and get some tires under there that will launch the bike.

It is all about give and take......What do you really want to do?

RAPTORYFM660r,

Sorry , but they are not up and running yet!!! It's OK though, I want to get them just right. I have waited this long, a couple more weeks is not going to kill me!!! Plus, we have to much snow around here to really play.

In the next week or two, I might put up some pics to show, But I have been wanting to show a finished product, not just the empty frame. We will see. It takes time to get everything just right!!!

I hope they will turn a few heads! I have put allot of work into them.

I have a 4" over stock swing arm on my DS760 and could not be happier with it. With the torque of a 760, and the fact that this power is created from just off idle, all the way to red line, a stock swing arm will take a good deal of the fun out of the motor, unless you just want to ride wheelies. When Dirt Wheels reviewed the quad with the 760, the stock swing arm was their only bitch. With the 4" over, it wheelies just like the stock bike does. I can lift the front at will and still turn and jump. This being my first quad with an extended swing arm, I was worried about the same things as you are, but now I love the 4" over arm. Go with the 4" and you will not be sorry.
