TVI Kits?
#1
Hey I see some of you talked to Gary about his kits he is selling. What are they? And what does each kit include? I saw someone had said, that the 680 kit comes with the pistoon and race head, for 2K, is that right? ANd what does the 703 kit have in it? And how much?

A full race head (larger valves, heavy duty springs with shim under bucket, cams (with sprockets - pined), oil reduction jet, etc.) will run you close to $3k by itself (If you go with Pami). The 102mm cylinder and 102mm piston is probably about another $1k.
I would think you could do a 680 without a head for a very reasonable price. If you are going to buy a high compression piston anyways why not get it a little larger and get the cylinder bored and coated. Wouldn't go larger than 102mm though.

I have a 687 with race head with cams and springs, intake manifold, 102 cyl. and 13to 1 piston, 10mm stay bolts, 45mm carb for about 4500$. The power == OO my God! I'm getting the rwr cdi here in the next few days couldn't wait on the 500$ msd. I'm also going to put on my 22inch pure sports bandits here this weekend too. The speed should be inpressive I've never rode it on any other tire than stock I'm hoping it will hook up better. I had it out last weekend and all I would do is spin the tires out of control. So much so that I lost to everybody except a stock raptor that did know what hit him. I raced two sparks raptors but they had paddles and I didn't have the right jets in either! even then I never lost more than a quads lenght. I would probly have spanked them if I had paddles. right now I'm running on my 45mm 152.5 with the stock needle on the 4th clip. Do any of you guys know if TRICK racing gas will leave tan spark plugs when it is jetted right??? I had the 150 and the stock needle on the 3rd clip and the spark plug didn't even look like it had been used so I think it was lean, with the bigger jets in I can hardly tell if the is any tan color to it.

well When I was putting the engine to geather I need the engine to be under 700cc per some race rule. so I talked to pami and he said that if I were to use a 102mm bore with there flat top piston and mill it so i have 13to1 he said it would be a 687. I did not stroke it so it has stock stroke. I haven't done the math so I'm just going on what pami told me. gary at tvi told me that he thought it was about 690-699 so I just been going on what pami told me. what is the stock stroke? and what effect would a higher deck on the piston effect the bore size? But I do know that the quad goes like h@!! ooo and I have to run 115 trick fuel through it (gas is pricey!)

Accl pump or not?
I don't run the accl pump and run a 45 pilot (had a 145 main but, plug was white - 4000' elevation.) Put in the 147.5 last night and will take the 150 and 152.5 with me. I run the clip on the stock position (are there 5 clips? If so, mine is on the 4th clip. So, what jet size are you running? Ron Wood has various sizes available if TVI doesn't have them in stock.
I wonder if my ProCircuit slip on is holding me back with all this flow I am getting. What pipe are you running sterling?
As for the cc's, So the piston is flat all around and has valve notches? Got a picture??? (e-mail me: mjbeaty@worldnet.att.net)
My 11:1 piston looks like any other 11:1 piston - raised center deck and notches for the valves.
Glad to hear it is up and running. That is a huge step from bolt-ons.
