Throttle
#2
I can only speak for myself, but I don't think I could shift my weight and hang over the side of my DS back and fourth through trails or whatever with the same control and confidence I have with a thumb. Not to mention steep hill climbs. I don't know, I guess I feel I have more control with a thumb throttle.
I am interested in reading some feedback on this issue so reply if you would guys.......thanks.

I think twist is good for a street bike, but the kind of riding I do on my quad deserves a thumb. In a crazy situation where you are "hangin' on for life"and you need to lay off the throttle, I think it's easier NOT to push a thumb throttle than a twist throttle....Just my opinion because I've never used a twist. Just seems like common sense

Its all personaly preferance, take a look at the racers its a 50/50 issue, i think it boils down to the guys who grew up on quads, and the guys who grew up on Dirtbikes and have since switched to quads, I Cant stand thumb throttles, just feels wrong............... If a twist was better for you, you would know it already.

I have to agree with jetcock and the other guys-- it's probably about what you got used to first. I grew up on both quads and dirt bikes, so I'm pretty much equally comfortable with either style.
I use the thumb throttle because that's what comes with the DS.

I prefer the thumb throttle. I rode a lot of dirt bikes growing up and like the twist on a bike & thumb on a quad. Of course since riding the DS full time and no bikes, I've become one helluva pee knuckle player. That could be my alterior motive.
