Ok both of these are close gearing setups...
Howerver the 14 is MUCH easyer to change. I really dont want to pull the rear off. I have to take the skid plate off, then slide the axle..
I want to goto the 14 but want to make sure there is not to much tension on the chain.
I have a stage 1 with 22 rear Razrs..

A lot of people talk about the 14T front being too hard on the chain, due to the sharper angle the links will turn, but I have a 14T, and it doesn't bother me at all running it. Our 530 chain has the same pitch as a normal 520 on any other bike, and plenty of those other bikes run 13T and even 12T fronts. Our 530 chain is thicker than 520, but no longer in roller-to-roller pitch.

the only problem i have heard of is the 14 is hard on the counter shaft seal, haven't ran this set-up so it could be nonsense. the other thing i've been told is it is a leverage thing, smaller front sprocketis harder for the engine to turn, i run 15-42on one and 15-43 on the other one, i'm pleased with both, but think i like the 42 best for where i ride. i will get a 14 to try on my brothers and then i'll know. i'm not thinking you are going to hit 80 though, i think 70 would be more in line maybe 75. but with the trouble you stated with the skid i'd go 14
