Is the starter also the alternator?

 

i think the stator does the power to charge.

 

The starter is the round thing under the head pipe on the motor up by the fan.

The stator is in the motor inside the flywheel. It is also called the "alternator" of motor cycle motors. It is what charges the battery and tells when to fire the spark plug.
