Quest 650 XT problems
#1
I just bought 2 Quest 650 XT's and they both are a real bear to shift the trans. Park sometimes is impossible and being on uneven ground make it hard to get from forward gears to reverse. Heck sometimes it is impossible to shift on even ground with out moving the machine by slinding on the seat.
Both of them have less than 55 miles on them, and my dealer tells me it is common.
Also I have had one broke speedometer and I had a rear brake blow up on me.
I am very new to the world of ATV's, and very much liked the trails that I hit this weekend.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has had any of the shifting issues with their machines? The dealer has fixed the other two problems.
It sucks to be out twice and to be at the dealer twice.

Wick, Mine shifts like a dream, no brake problems (the engine braking almost makes them secondary), 2800miles in 10 months just oil and gas, except major deceleration backfire. Fast as hell, faster than Prarie, grizzly, 700 polaris, awsesome climber and plow machine. Fix the trailer hitch, cut the ball plate off and weld it in 2" higher.

Mine shifts good as well. It is defenitely not a "common" problem. I have ridden a couple of Quest 650's and none of them are that difficult. I would make them fix it, that should be a warrantee problem.

Hello, I have had all the same problems. My new 02 quest 650 with 150 miles has been in the shop five of the nine months I've owned it. It has been out on three hard weekends and has been towed in each time. As far as the shifting, the idle has to be set VERY low to shift good. The shifter has been redesigned inside. The starter bendix has also been upgraded. Big bumps can seperate the rubber boot between the engine and what I assume is the carb. I just got it back. I'm trying to decide if I should take a bath and trade it or give it another chance.
