I already have 02 DS Baja and love it. Planning on buying another 4 wheeler for the woman and just debating on what to get. She would prefer an auto, but I am talking her out of it. But right now it is between the KFX 700 or a Predator.

Just wanting others opinions if they were going to get another quad. My preference is another DS, but I think I would like the 03 before they go and do what they are doing to the 04 regardless of the weight issue.

I can't comment on the KFX or the Predator, however I can say that we ended up getting a second DS. My Fiance told me she would ride the mildly modified 2001 DS and I could have the new Baja. I couldn't have done better with that setup! Tell your lady she wont be the only girl on a DS & that there is even a lady who rides a DS650 on these forums!

 

It seems like there are more and more girls riding DS's in the forums.

 

I just purchased my wife a new KXF 700 TODAY!, and I,(i mean) SHE loves it!!!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] I think this quad is the perfect complimate to the DS, It has power, and is ULTRA easy to ride,hinse "wifes quad".

I wont have to worry about her not having enough power OR having it in the wrong gear. ITS PEACE OF MIND I tell you.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Plus it will go as slow as she likes, and will go as fast I as I like.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

if shifting isn't a problem go with the ds, it is great having two. plus women seem to like the suspension, even our raptor friend that are women have commented on that. but if you think shifting is going to be a issue the kfx 700 is the way to go it is user friendly, and nothing like a unhappy women to ruin a good ride. congrads bigger, who had the bigger smile you or her[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I bought my wife a utility quad (auto tranny). It was really a rotten trick. Some damn thief keeps stealing it and bringing it back througout the entire deer season.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] They don't even wash the blood off of it sometimes!!!

 

If she's set on an automatic, you can save a ton of $ by getting her a Polaris Trailblazer 400. A couple inexpensive mods to the 2-stroke and it'll fly.

 

I orignally bought my ds for my girlfriend and hated it at first because my craptor has so much bottom end. but after a month of riding it I swore by it I rode it and unloaded it. not rode and fixed every night. now I'm on my 4th tranny in my craptor, race my ds and my girlfriend watches the kid, works out good!
