wildwildweb16, yes Desert Oasis is the place you want to stay at. The BLM camp is the one by the lake. Desert Oasis is the next one and that would be to the right of the lake and down a ways. The next camp down from that is Sand Hills. Desert Oasis is closer to the big Dunes than Sand Hills resort is. 10 bucks I night I think is what it was last year.

 

Does that mean 10 bucks a person per night or 10 bucks a night per camp site?

Well that is good then. If it was per person then it would be pretty tough to stay down there for a week. That sucks that the blm is going to be closed down all summer. no free camping.

 

Thats true. But the camping there is cool. It's all packed sand so your paddles are safe. The trail the the dunes is all sand also. Only about a 30 second ride and then WOT!!!! waahooo!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Its only 6 bucks per night for tents. There is lots of space for those that are not useing hook ups. No need to worry about not having a spot to camp at the oasis.

Me too, but at that point my wife will be 36 weeks along, and could go at anytime after that. Cant go far from home.
