Jet, that is about the size I am thinking. The 4inch with 35's. But my toy hauler gets pretty heavy, it is a 28 footer and loaded is about 9500 - 10000 pounds.

It will be awhile before anything gets done, baby on the way and all.

Thanks for the info

Bat

i tow a car trailer with a friends Celica on it quite often, ive towed rented camper trailers before.. Tows Great! Ive also regeared to 4.56's so that keeps it about a 4.10 ratio with stock tires cause i do tow all the time.... If you run the 3.73 gears and go up on tire size, say goodby to using Overdrive when towing!

Bat, I have a 6" lift with 35's and it pull my trailer just fine. That's with a cart in the back(of the truck), 2 DS's and my sons 90. Full of gas and water. I have the equilizer hitch and just adjusted it to drop down.

Jetjock- your darn right about bigger tires with the stock gears, I can never get into overdrive. Gears is my next mod.

Dont' forget the air bags.
Also, an F250 CC 4x4 weighs in about 7500 lbs unloaded (with a diesel).
The GVWR is 8800 lbs.
Add some people to the cab, the equipment and gear....you're probably at GVWR.

The TT or 5th wheel is going to put you SERIOUSLY over 8800lbs while (obviously) under the 20,000lbs GCW rating.

Be sure to use your airbags, especially if you're using a 3/4 ton model (goes for all of the big 3 mfrs)

my trucks GVWR sticker says 12,500lbs for towing a trailer.... that only applies in a legal since now, cause ive replaced the rear springs and gears and thats the two items which the sticker is based on.

disturbed here's the numbers from dodge's website, its 305 hp so looks like my V10 sports a few more ponies than the dodge, .. you got more torque, but thats a diesel, so no arguement....

hey bat, 9500-10,000. Thats nothing. Our 23' trailer loaded up with 3 quads and our golf cart fully loaded with water and everything was 9700lbs. Our new trailer is 7200lbs EMPTY, gonna be atleast 11,000 when loaded up. You wont have any problem towing it with a lift. Sean

Last summer we used F250 diesels to pull headers all over the plains. 2 heads x 4,800lbs = 9,600lbs and then add weight of the trailer, maybe another 4,000? They were heavy. It was a pretty good load for an F250, in addition to diesel tanks, tools and supplies in the box.
