Hey, I'm looking to maybe buy a Tach gauge for my 2000 Yellow DS. Bombardier sells them for 200+ and I was wondering if I could just buy a Tachometer from any auto parts store and install in on the DS. Would this be possible. I've seen some for about 50-70 bucks??

Thanks

Auto Meter makes the one for the DS. You can contact them directly and see if they will sell you one. I looked around also but I did not find a digital one I liked for the cost.. So, i broke down and bought one..

The one you get from the dealer has the correct plug on the end of it to plug right in to the wiring harness, if you get something aftermarket you may have to do some hacking on the harness or aquire the factory plug and splice it on to your tach.. Those tachs at the auto store are probably not weather tight either...

If you want to save 50 or 100 bucks then go to the dealer and ask for this part number 715500036
$149.97 (US) 132.97 (CAN) it's the tach that bombardier sell for the DS650. The information is from the latest bombardier catalog. If you have a problem with the dealers in your area.. PM me and I will give you the phone number of the place in MI. that wants to sell the part at this price. Mine is on it's way west. The dealers around here say $280.00 maybee the don't know how much they really are. They wouldn't be trying to take advantage of us wood they............???????

No, well, when u launch for a race, your usually leaning frontwards to cut wind-friction. So when U need it, you can see it.

The tall dunes we climb there is plenty of time to lean over and watch the tach.

It is supprising how often you use it when climbing and racing.
