Hey guys, Im really new to the whole ATV scene but decided to dive in head first and just picked up a used '01 DS650 and have to say WOW, these things just flat get it! I have never even ridden a 4 wheeler but have had a few street bikes and a couple dirt bikes but always wanted an ATV and can say I am very happy with my newest addition. I have been looking for a good used bike for a lil while now and was mainly looking at banshees just because of their huge aftermarket but found what I believe to be a really good deal on my quad ($3000) and it just had the top end rebuilt by a local dealer. Anyway I am in desperite need of a helmet and was looking at the Vega's because I am a little strapped for cash right now with just dumping 3 grand and all and wanted to see what you guys thought and maybe some other suggestions for a good reasonably priced helmet. Thanks!

Also what are some good tires to run for trail riding? Mine are almost bald and dont like to hold air for more than a week. Also, do these things have charging systems for the battery? The reason I ask is because when I got it, it had a low charge and it was enough to start it a couple times but after about an hour of riding it starts up without a problem so I figured it had to have some kind of stator assembly. Thanks in advance for the info.

Yeah and that is why I was looking at the vegas and my buddy at work does stunt riding on sport bikes and he said their stunt coordinator was using a vega helmet for trail riding and took a good spill and the helmet actually split in half on impact! His buddy wasnt going that fast but it was a good drop and luckily he wasnt even hurt but he went out the next weekend and bought a new Shoei. I figured they all had to be SNELL approved and the higher grade helmest just exceeded that but after hearing that storie I want something that wont give that easily.
