Meercat 50 repeat broken intake fix!
#1
I have a repair shop and have seen several Meercat 50s with broken intake manifolds. I have noticed that almost always it is due to to an oversized (adult) rider playing with the bike or after jumping hills or hitting a hole. There is no front suspension so the shock torques the frame and the carb is struck and cracks the aluminum intake manifold due to it sitting so close to the frame rails. I keep a number of these replacement manifolds in stock but have been pondering a more permanant fix. Tell me what you think. I think I will bandsaw a new manifold in two and reconnect it by using a rubber hose, silicone and two hose clamps. This will allow for some flex and wont require bending tghe frame away from the carb. What do you think?
