Default Yamoto 150 fuse

1st - thanks "2manytoys" and "smb05" for the carb help. my sons atv is running great, with one exception. The fuse comming off the hot terminal of the battery keeps blowing.
I can replace the fuse , it starts and runs great - but after we shut it off - then go to restart it -- when it won't turn over, we find the blown fuse.
It isn't happening when we start it ---- but at some point when he is riding.
The lights are disconnected,so it isn't that.
Any ideas ?? Would you happen to know what size fuse that should be ?
I put a 5 amp in , but the smaller red wire is looking brownish ---- like it's getting too hot.

Thanks in advance for the help.

FTE,

Try a 10 amp that's what came out of mine. I blew my fuse because I was being lazy and did not disconnect the battery when I did my daughters head light upgrade.

Hope this helps.

Also if that does not fix it you may have to take all the plastic off and start looking for your short to ground. It will be there some where just go through all the electrical connections.

Good Luck

SB.

Thanks smb05.
Looking at everything for a short was what I had in mind--- but just thought maybe these yamotos had some common "short " problems in the electrical system.
I didn't want to go too big with the fuse , since it already looks like it got hot with the 5 amp fuse in place.

-thanks for the response and help.
