Default Mini Falcon 90 arriving today

I should be getting the mini falcon 90cc anytime now and I was wondering if I need to change the oil right away and if I should what is recommended? Also is there anything I would do about the air filter since it will be ridden in the sand?

Yes you do need to change the oil. It is supposed to take 20w50 in warm weather and 10w30 in cold weather. I would highly recommend a clamp on K&N filter with outerwears unless they have changed the design of the airbox. The 90 has great power and the K&N will make it better. You may also want front wheel spacers. Make sure you go over EVERY nut and bolt and locktite if possible. I have some carb tuning tips on the forum and set up tips also. As long as you do a proper setup and keep up on maintenance these are very nice for the money and will last. They are not recommended for jumping because they will break. Sand and moderate trail riding is ideal. Remember its not a Honda!

Thank you for your advice. I just got done putting it together and it idles fine. I hate to even mess with the carb. I checked the oil it was shipped in and it feels like it is pretty decent stuff. Wouldn't it be better to use it as break in oil and then change it. Also, can you tell me what model of K&N would work for this one. I also made note that it isn't a Honda. Almost everthing else I own is though. My little girl is too young know the difference. I was really impressed at how the quad looked and at the suspension it had. Can't beat it for the price.

Trust me when I say change the oil. DO NOT run this for long with the shipping oil in it. This is not a good oil. It is like mineral oil just for shipping. If you dont change it it will cause damage. It is fine to run it to tune the carb but thats it.

2manytoys is absolutely right. DO NOT RIDE YOUR QUAD WITH THE SHIPPING OIL IN IT. you will have engine failure.!!!!!

Thanks for telling me. I got some 20-50W oil but I have yet to get the damn oil plug out. It is on there so tight and there is hardly any room to mover around there. Any pointers?

Yah make sure its the right plug, use a long offset wrench and you may already know this but lefty loosy righty tighty. The plug is the bigger plug on the bottom front right. Not the smaller plug on the left. Your fill is on the right rear also.

Recieved my mini 90 a few weeks ago.You need to know ,the manual is wrong! It shows the wrong plug for oil drain
the right one is the larger 17mm not the small 14mm as shown. The small one is a tention spring for the timing.
