New out of box question
#1
I got the daughters Kazuma 50 today and have a question. I was looking in the manual and in the PDI checklist it talks about draining the tranny of the shipping oil and filling it to the proper level with the proper oil. I can't find any info in the as to locate the drain plug, what type of tranny oil to use, and how to check for the proper level. Is the bike shipped with something other than tranny oil in it? I really do not want to run the bike until I can figure this out. I did do a test start up and the bike kicked over first shot and ran strong. Any help would be great.

doesn't have transmission oil, the engine oil lubes both engine and transmission, make sure to use a good grade oil and change it before riding, should use a 10-30 weight. when checking the engine oil do not screw the dip stick into the engine..

Also when changing the oil be careful because I dont know about the 50 but on the 90cc mini falcon it's spring loaded and when you unscrew the drain plug POW comes the spring and plug. Have fun putting that back in, I just did it for the first time last night and 15 minutes later it was finally in. I wonder if there's a better way for them to make the drain plug?

SOCAL,
You took the wrong plug out. The plug that you took out was the chain tensioner. You have to take the other plug on the right side front bottom of the motor. It is a 17mm plug. You need to use a good 10w30/40 non detergent motorcycle oil.
Carry,
It is ok to run and let it idle for a while with the shipping oil in it. It wont hurt. It will actually help it break in easier. Just dont drive it with that oil in it. It is best to let it sit at idle for at least 30min to get all the crap out of the carb. There is a few other things you need to do to make it more reliable. Just PM me and I will tell you what you have to do.

Oh my gosh I'm such a funny guy, my wife and I have had the greatest time looking back at what I was doing with that quad and that amazing oil tensioner plug or so I thought!!!! Well that would explain the oil coming out of the engine experience, man what a goober I am. So we'll just keep this between us......Okay, then why is the bike not starting when I put fuel into the tank anc turn it over?
