3 weeks old? I would return it and get a replacement. Sounds like a lemon. No one should be troubleshooting anything under a month old. Or is this just 3 weeks old to you from a previous owner?

I can reutrn it for a 25% of purchase price "re-stocking fee". $1,300.00X.25=$325.00. The seller will probably just fix it and then sellit to some other schmuck.

Yikes! That's a terrible warranty. Are you sure it's ignition? Have you verified spark yet? If you got spark, verify fuel flow.

I always tell people buy a used name brand before a new china machine. You should of got some thing like this for that price range. Just add gas and ride for years to come. 2007 Honda TRX250EX$1500 well worth the xtra $200.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Black-Honda-TRX250EX-Sportrax-ATV-/141669896163?forcerrptr=true&hash=item20fc2f0fe3&item=141669896163
Here is others in case you think the first is a fluke. All of these ATVs will be running when the Tao Tao is a distant memory.

I agree with zrock. There has to be some kind of warranty. Is the dealer unable to service this unit for some reason? What issues are you having, maybe we can help where your dealer failed.

First, let me say that I am greatfully impresed with everyones responces. My Tao Tao 250 E lost ignition within thirty minutes of getting it home. CDI swap and checks all around with a DVOM proved nothing. but then, what does one do for reference meterial? I believe the kill switches are opperating correctly. Nevertheless I took it back to the seller who does work on them as well. The decision to buy the Tao Tao was based on reviews (mostly favorable), size needs and affordability. at this point I'll let the seller take a crack at it. I'm not one to give up easily. Two years ago I bought a little Coolster 110 for my son. Damaged in transit it started out as a nightmare but once sorted out the little thing is turn key reliable and runs like a champ. If the seller can't figure it out I will probably bring it home and get serious. Keep em' coming.

Hopefully they are warrantying it for you. Most places are giving 30-90 day warranty and all had 1 year warranty on engine.
