Default Baja wilderness trail 250

Just a quick question before I dig into this one any further. I've got a baja wilderness trail 250cc. Only at idle I've got a knocking type noise inside the clutch case area. The knock never effects the idle and it will drop slightly with the knock. When the idle is adjusted too low it will even stall when the knock kicks in. At off idle it's fine and that noise is either gone or can't be heard over the revs. Besides that it shifts great and runs perfectly fine. I've heard of broken case issues etc but before I pull off the cover I wanted some feedback. I took the plug out and cranked it with the pull start to see if it binds with some kind of resistance. No issues there. The only hint of an internal issue I can find is every time I change the oil there are always aluminum flakes in the filter and lower pickup screen. Thanks for any ideas. Oh and one more thing for people who don't deal with these. It's a semi auto style clutch incase that makes a difference for noise poin pointing.
Thanks
