Default 2001 Raptor 660R: tons of maintenance

for sale is my 2001 Yamaha Raptor 660R.

i previously owned a 2001 Honda 400EX, and after riding that for a while, i realized i wanted more power, and found this Raptor 660R. it is faster than anything i've ever ridden, and is extremely fun to ride.

the quad has a clean title/registration in hand (transferrable).

the engine runs great and burns no oil. i only use 93 octane in the Raptor.

Has many new parts and recently done maintenance. The previous owner spent quite a bit of money on routine maintenance and new parts, and all receipts for this work are included.

I have tons of paperwork for this machine.

-Original owner's purchase order/bill of sale from Wilson's Yamaha Country in 2001
-original owner's loan note
-clean, transferrable registration
-factory owner's manual
-Clymer's repair manual
-Yamaha ATV Informational booklet
-Yoshimura full exhaust info packet
-maintenance records from May 20th, 2011, performed by Bob Weaver Motorsports, for the following work, totaling over $630:
-full disassembly, cleanup, re-jetting for mods, and reassembly of both carbs

-full oil change w/ filter, check all other fluids

-new neutral switch assembly, replaced both neutral sensors, rewired neutral and reverse switches

-new exhaust header gaskets

the previous owner also replaced:

the starter
the starter one-way bearing (known to fail on these machines--it's taken care of for you)
the flywheel

I'm selling it because i'm in the market for a newer car. I will miss this machine, as it is so nimble and easy to ride. The handling is amazing in the woods, and the midrange of the engine is perfect for trail riding. I can pull away from my friends's DS650 in the woods course we have. the top end power of the 660 is simply amazing--i can also pull away from the DS650 on the grass airfield that we occasionally race on (from both 5mph rolls, and digs).

The good:

-i will include 2 qts of Yamalube (factory oil), as well a brand new spin on filter.
-new OEM throttle cable. the previous owner had a Motion Pro twist throttle installed. i didn't like this, so i bought and installed a standard OEM thumb throttle. i will include the twist if you want.
-newer front wheel bearings
-newer front brake pads
-newer rear brake pads
-new molder rubber handgrips (very comfortable)
-newer Yoshimura full-exhaust system (fantastic sound. Will include the spark arrestor too. this includes everything from the headers to the tip.)
-K&N airfilters
-new Renthal front sprocket, geared down one tooth. makes for insane acceleration.
-brand new OEM o-ring chain, 2 rides on it.
-the carbs have been jetted to work with the modifications done to the motor.
-newer Maxxis Razr-2 tires all around. outstanding grip. they were put on at the beginning of this season.

Items that need attention:

-the previous owner removed both headlights and the taillight. the factory harnesses are still on the bike and still work (i verified this when buying this Raptor). they will be included with the necessary brackets. i wanted to improve the condition of the headlights, so i machine buffed them, and then hand buffed them, removing the cloudiness on the surface.
-the plastics are not in horrible condition, but they have seen better days.
-the oil needs to be changed. i'm including both the oil and filter.
-the previous owner rigged the reverse switch/lever to be constantly engaged, so that when you want to engage reverse, you don't have to flip the switch AND the gear lever--just the foot gear lever. i find this to be actually a good thing (more convenient), but it's worth mentioning. this can be changed back to the factory setting, but i like it the way it is.

As it sits, you can get on this thing and ride the crap out of it. It's ready to go right as it is.

awesome tires:
