The ride from Rivermist to Asher bridge and back is on for this sunday. If any of you guys and gals can make it , you will have a good time.

Hey Bob, how about taking a day off for this ride?

Andy and Bobby, i know this kind of ride isnt much of a challenge for your quads, but its still a good ride.

Andy S. How about a birthday ride ?

Mike, Has your arm heald up enough to ride?

James, Did you get your quad fixed?

Ronnie will you be done with the hay?

And anyone else. I can give you the details if you wish . This ride will require you to bring some gas and food with you. It will be about 80 miles. I rode 62 a few weekes ago without the gas light coming on, but i will probably need gas on the way back.

I would like to go but i will be working on sunday. And after about 50miles mine is dry as a bone as far as fuel goes, must have to do with the rejetting that i did.

On a side note i have a pair of diamond plate CV guards for sale. they fit a 650/700 praire and prob on other kawi models. They will need to be "modified" as the back set of mounting holes were not drilled in the right spot, it is as simple as drilling two holes though. Also you will have to provide your own mounting hardware (6 ubolts and nuts with washers) Pics can be provided and i would like to get $20.00 for these. Also I have a red rack bag for sale. It is a pretty plain model but works just fine. $20.00 will take it and i can take pics if anyone needs them.

I just got the stitches out Monday. The doc didn't seem to want to take them out after seeing my arm, but when looking at the calendar, he took em out and put some paper strapping tape across them. I asked him If I could start pumping iron again, he said quickly NO. That my arm could be tore back opened, so anything I do especially outdoors will depend on how my arm looks on Friday. I don't wanna do anything stupid this month, as I'm taking my bike to D.C. on the 12th, would suck to ruin my trip. My weekend activities are still pending a close examination of my arm. It's still slightly opened, sure some good river water would do it good. I know, probably be easier to just cut it off, but....

Brent,
No my quad is still dead. We tore it down and tried to fix it last week but haven't been able to find the problem. It sucks too because I wanted to go to Mudstock in Fort Smith, Ark this weekend.
I called the two nearest repair shops but they have a 3 week waiting list before they'll even look at it.
I'd try to explain everything we did to it, but since I'm not much of a mechanic, I'd probably get it wrong. Mike could probably explain it better.

What I can say is that it's all torn down and now sitting in my buddy's garage. I'd pay somebody to fix it (or buy the beer) but I can't find anyone who has the time and knowledge to mess with it.

He was cruisin it down the river, dead battery he had to pull start it. He'd just went through some water when it died. (may not be related)

He has purchased a new battery.

Anywho, we checked all the fuses, ohmed the stator, checked for voltage, even checked the pulse generator, which registered a change. Ohmed the regulator/rectifier. Ohmed the coil, checked for voltage at the coil, showed milli-volts, I believe the input is supposed to be around 14volts, output from 25,000 - 35,000. Output read in milli-volts.

Basically he's trying to figure out why no spark now.

It's a 2005 Kodiak 450 I believe.

Honestly, been a long time since troubleshooting an electrical system on a bike. Been since they had points. =-)

2 things off the top of my head did you Ohm the plug cap ? I think it should be like 10ohms also did you check the plug wire ? I know its a long shot but I've had several that didnt "seem" to have a spark but it ended up having a crack in the wire and was firing to the frame instead of the cap.

does anybody know the tolerances to meter out the coil rectifier and stater for james' 05 kodiak? we tore it down and tested everything, we need to know if the tolerances are good. for example the rectifier was oming out on the 3 legs going to the stater at 1.53 to 1.58. all 3 legs were between those two numbers.
