Big Mud Tires...
#1
I have a 97 yamaha bigbear 350 4x4 and i love going mudding with it. the problem is my old tires are really worn down and i need some new ones. i have just some old cheap 25'' dunlops on it right now and im looking to buy something alot bigger and more beefy. anyone have any suggestions? and another thing... is it a good idea to put a lift on? i'd like to, so i can put even bigger tires on, but i dont know if its worth the extra money... Ok 1 last thing... what would be the biggest size tires i could put on w/o the lift and without major rubbing probs?

I have a Honda Rancher 350 4x4 and going strait to the most aggressive mud tire there is which is Outlaws . Outlaws and Vampires are the best two mudding tires in my opinion . Yeah it would be a good idea to get a lift if you do a lot of mudding . A lift kit is on my list of stuff to get . The biggest size tire I would get is 26" which is pretty much the biggest tire you can get with out a lift kit . If you do get 26" I would prefer getting some sort of engine mod. help spin the tires too . Hope I helped !!

Look at the ITP 589 in the 25" size. Try not to lift the machine because the lift will cause you future problems with the machine. The ITP 589 will impress you and the 25 " tire size will eliminate the need for a lift.

I rode a 98' Big Bear for 2 years. Nice reliable bike. Go for a lift. It really helps to get the frame up off the ground. Because of the bears lack of power go with a smaller less aggressive tire like the mudlites or 589's. I had 26" Blackwaters on mine back in the day. Blackwaters suck in case you were wondering, but the 26" tire with a lift was a nice combo. Also, wide in the back, skinny in the front.
I added a wolverine/warrior piston and ring kit to mine after it wore out. It's higher compression than the stock bear if you have an older one. I'm not sure on the newer version. It made ALOT!! of difference on mine and it was only about $125 bucks.
