Thoughts on Bearclaws?
#2
I put a set of Bear Claws on last summerr and they have been excellent. I ride a lot of rock, shale, sand and snow, with some mud in the fall and spring. The tires handle a lot better than stock and much better traction. They do not clean out well in real bad mud, but that is not a problem for my riding. I would buy them again for any machine. Just my .02. Good luck.

Thanks for the info catrider. I can't decide on my next set of tires. I have heard lots on both the 589's and Bighorns but nothing on the Bearclaws. I think the tread looks like it would a fair job. Just wanted some input from a owner.
Thanks again
Jes

I just answered this same question on another thread but I agree with Catrider, I ran them on my king Quad and had 900 miles or so and they wore very little and in the very same terrain conditions and found them to conform to all conditions and perform to my expectations. Great improvment over stock, in my opinion stock tires are put on them to get into the dealership then they should be taken off. I not aware of how the Bighorn performs but the 589's seem to be to hard for the trail conditions and if they were not studded they got no traction going over logs. When they are studded they get great traction but I do not want to have studs all the time. The kodiak I rode last hunting seaon had the 589's, the back were studded and the front were not. I'm in the process of looking for tires & probably wheels for my Arctic Cat 650. I was hoping to find something in a 6-ply for punture resistance, but may have to settle for 4-ply. I want something thats good for trail riding but not overly aggressive, and can handle some mud. The ride quality must be good on hard pack, loose gravely hills, steep dirt hills, & some sandy areas that we ride on. I'm probably going back with the 26" tires. So far i'm looking at Dirt Devils XT, Bear Claws,Mudlites XT, Goodyear Mud Runners( probably nothing no more aggressive than these Mud Runners). Unless i find the Titan 589 MT's to my liking. What i need is a little insight on some of these tires or others that may be close to what i want. In another post Newbeatle had a suggestion of putting Mud Lites on front & Mudrunners on the rear. That idea sort of appeals to me as i think a less aggressive tire up front may help the handling of the Cat, & you would still have a good tire up front to grab onto the rocky ledges on some of our trails. I liked the stock Goodyear MTR's on the cat for any riding i've done, except for the flex & roll of the tire.
I may combine whatever tires i get with the Delta Steel Chrome or Chrome & Black Wheels.
Wouldn't that sharpen up the looks of that Cat. Your coments & suggestions will be appreciated.
