i have a 400EX and need a set of tires, i bought my quad used and it came with paddles, no dirt tires. what would you reccomend? i realize that the price is about the same, i'm thinkin 20x11x9 size, and i need 2 rims to go with. thanx.

You'll hear good from both...I heard that the ITP tires wear a little faster then the razr....I hear a lot of people going with the razr on the rear...The holeshot you can get 6 ply and the razr.are 4...but I hear good and bad for both...Hopefully you'll talk to some owners who have them...thats my 2 cents

Both are good tires. I run the Razr 1s 20x11x9 6ply on my 250r and they work great for me. If you were going with the Razrs I would get the 1s in the rear and the 1s or 2s in the front. I think next time, I am probably just going to go with 4ply as the 6plys are pretty heavy tires.
I order all my tires through RockyMountainATV. Great company to work with too.

The Holeshots are made of a softer rubber so you will get better traction, but they will wear out much faster. Other than that, they are pretty equal from what I have heard from guys that have run both. I'm only talking about the Holeshot MX. The XC may be a harder compound. Most guys I race with like the Razer or Razer2's much more than the Holeshots.

awesome thanx, i guess it comes down to price, but i'm leaning toward teh rzrs. when i got my quad it had the fronts on it already, but it only came with paddles in back, some jerk stole the rear rzrs a few days before we bought the quad. thanx again for the input.

I have run Holeshot XC's (not standard Holeshots!) on all my sport bikes for years. They are great, and perfect for the conditions you will be riding here in So. Calif. Get ITP rims. They are wider than stock and have a greater offset. It will widen you bike something like 3", for some great improved stability!

How would the Holeshot XC's do on my Z250? I need to replace my stockers front and back because they are starting to get worn down, and really stink when I need some traction trying to get over fallen logs and the ground is muddy. Most of my riding is in the woods, but I have a few open areas so I would like a tire that can slide in corners pretty good too.

We run the XC's on the 250EX, and they do real well, but again, they are on the wider ITP rims. You could go with the standard Holeshots, which are lighter than the XC's, so it won't take as much power to turn them.
