My wife's 99 Big Bear needs some new tires, I don't want to spend too much for tires, but I would like a good quality tire. I see some real nice "looking" Maxxis Sur Trak 26x12x12 for $50 ea. They are only 2 ply, but are supposed to have a softer, rubber that helps prevent punctures. Does this sound good, or should I look for something else? If it were me and I were getting a less aggressive (meaning not a vampire or something) type tire that was a lot better than stock, I would go with Sur Tracs or Spider Tracs. If I was going closer to stock, I would get Titan 489's. If money was not a problem on whatever, I would get Spider Tracs. They are a proven tire, but they are a bit higher than the sur tracs. I don't think you could go wrong with the Sur tracs though.
