Default Raptor Lonestar Swingarm

I recently upgraded my rear-end to Lonestar specs: Axle, locknut, rotor hub, sprocket hub, carrier, +1 swingarm. I will be running the stock rear shock(for now). Is this upgrade really going to be pointless with the stock shock? I plan on having it recharged before I install the swingarm, and to have it rebuilt and revalved this winter. Should I just upgrade the shock too, as I did with my fronts? Also, I'm running this rear end with Lonestar +1+2 a-arms and Works Triplerate shocks up front. Is my ride height going to improve with this swingarm, or should I at least get a lowering link? Comments/Suggestions?

I know an Elka rear shock with linkage will lower your height at least an inch and half

The linkage alone from Elka is $220, and a shock runs between $600-$700. A little too pricey for me. If anything, I'll get a works adjustable Ultracross. Though I thought about buying a lowering link just to have my sponsor shop copy it for me, and then send it back.

some1 also mentioned that it is possible to turn your stock linkage upside down...haven't tried but it sounds like it might work

For about $325, you can have your stock rear shock rebuilt with SSD components. Much better than stock and half the cost of a new rear shock. If you've got the cash though, the Elka linkage and a new rear shock would be the best way to get the Raptor rear end under control.

Does SSD have a website? I heard about the flipped linkage too, but I was looking at it one day and didn't see what difference it would make.

SSD is an elka component. You should be able to find info on Elka's site.

If you want to lower the rear, flip the "dogbone" section where the lower shock bolt is around front to back. This is what all the TT racers do.

Actually, I think I might have it solved. I got word today that my sponsor shop is outfitting me with a new rear shock and linkage to get me out on the track sooner. Sweet!
