Which tire, Vamp or MudRunner, performs better in mud, and why do you think so?

don't know, i,ve never owned vamps but i can tell you one thing, as long as you can turn the mudrunners they won't plug up. also there a very good tire for all riding conditions and they steer very easy!!!

The Mud Runners are very impressive. Check out the article on this website about the Mud Runners. I can personally attest to their effectivness in thick goopy mud....That's me on the Sportsman 500 in the article!! TF

It really depends on what you consider the most important here. The vamps are better deep mud tires and will probably make it through some spots that mudrunners won't on the same bike. They weigh more and will also steer a bit heavier. Mudrunners will make it through most mud conditions as good as almost anything else and also ride smoother and handle better on hardpack. It depends on what you are going to do. If you're doing deep mud runs, get the vamps. If you do mainly trail riding that encounters occasional mud, then the goodyears are for you. In my opinion, the mudrunners are the best all around of the two, with the serious mud tire being the vamps. I personally would prefer the magnum bi/tri claws.
