Default 2001 Rubicon Issue

I have a 2001 Honda Rubicon and I had the oil pump replaced and the whole top end basically rebuilt and it runs OK now. I have one problem. When I start the bike the D1, D2 and the ESP in flashing on the display. If you start backing up the bike wants to sputter and sound as if it is flooding when you give it gas. The electronic shift is not working either, I was wondering if it has a sensor out or what, Any ideas or advice?

Battleman, there is a reset sequence that needs to be done if certain items are replaced/unhooked. and with as much work as you said you had done its worth a shot. Here is the link to the process that was posted a awhile ago. Original Post I also have 2001 rubicon and had this happen. the reset worked, but a couple of days later the problem reappeared. In my case it ended up being something else which i'll will explain in another post. Since your atv was just serviced i would try the reset and see what happens.

I could not get the ECM to set agagin. I took the shift motor out and it would not work. I took a battery out and actuatied it and it was ok, but if you plug it into the bike it will not work. Is there a bench test I can do to see if the angle sensor is OK? Thanks for your earlier reply.
