I realize everyone is asking about a-arms and shocks. I am leaning toward TCS and +1 a-arms (I race mainly HS & XC, but occasional MX). I also realize I should setup the bike for one or the other, but money is an object.
Should I stay with stock a-arms and aftermarket shocks or +1 a-arms. If I here differently, I am going to splurge and go with TCS stock travel???

Thanks for the help, I would like to have it done by the IRONMAN.

Nick

What machine are you riding?

Depending on how tight your HS are, I would leave the control arms stock, clipping trees sucks & really slows you down.

The TCS shocks will improve cornering enough that you will not need the +1's

What is this that I keep hearing about different travel options by TCS???? AFAIK they only offer custom setup on Works shock bodies which offer just a tad bit more travel than stock.

Buy the shocks. For XC you really dont need/want a wide front end.Shocks are THE MOST important part of your quad to have set up right.

I would go with TCS. I heard that they are really good and you dont have to adjust them to every time you go out to ride. I live in Crawfordsville,In and Im planning to race the Ironman. What class you race in?
Good luck!

I live in southern Indiana and would like to know more about the IRONMAN. I have never raced CC before - (I have a 440 and am considering TCS shocks as well) - what is the track like?? How long does the race usually last?

The track is tight.Lots of creek crossing, big hills.Lots of spectators. If you have plus 2 a-arms are axle dont even try to race trails are too tight.Lots of raviens.Bean field start. It lasts about two hours. This year they splitting up the race 10am for novice-four stroke-utilities.1pm for pros-250a-250b.

I have stock A-arms and axle. I have never raced before, but would like to do it just to see what it is like. What kind of class do they have for "first timers?"

I was wondering what all classes do will they be running at 10a.m.? I know you said novice, 4-stroke, and utilities, but I didn't know if they had a class for different sizes (250 & under - 300 & over etc...). I think myself and a couple friends may head up that way - any info you have would be greatly appreciated. You can e-mail me if you want.

Pros, 250a, open a,200 b,250 b,open b,junior, vet, senior all run at 1p.m.im not sure what class there is for 250 &under but 300 and over would be in open a or b.Even if it is over 300 you can race in the novice.
