ITP Wheels...Which type 5 0r 6 ??
#1
Going to get some, just cant decide which ones and why. It's my understanding that the type 5 are clearcoated and the type 6 arenot clearcoated and are highly polished. Am I correct in assuming that the clearcoated ones are that way to make clean ups easier. But wont they evently chip and crack and if so then wouldn't a person be better off without the clearcoated ones.
Wouldn't I be better off without the clearcoat and just be ready for some tough polishing.Wouldn't I be able to shine up the type 6's back to almost new where as the type 5 will always show chips and dings?? Your Thoughts and Opinon greatly apprecatied.

I don't think the clearcoat makes a damn bit of difference. When you scratch them up, it will go through the clearcoat. I have two sets of Type 5C's. One has 27" ITP 589s mounted and the other has 27" Mud Lites. Living here in New Mexico I got the 5C's because they are stronger than the 6C's....the 6C's are alittle lighter, but I opted for the 5C's for strength. You will scratch them up....depends on the terrain. But its hard to see the scratches...and you can polish them out if needed...

I found that if you contact mathew at www.atvoutfitters.net he will work with you on pricing. I had got a price from discount tire on the set of 27 inch mudlites on the type 6 series wheels and then called atvdirect.com and they beat discounts price and included centercaps and lugnuts. I then called atvoutfitters.net and they beat all there prices. I got www.atvoutfitters.net down to $550 shipped to my door mounted and balanced on the type 6 series wheels

Silverbullet is right. Matthew at ATVoutfitters is the man, he gave me the best deal and threw in chrome lugnuts and center caps for free. I asked Matt what wheel would be best for me. He said it depends, if you ride in snowy locations where they salt the roads the type 5 with the clearcoat would give you better protection from salt corrosion. If not then go for the bling. But call him to order, he can't give you deals if you purchase through the website.
