No one has a set so far. As I said, it will be early December when they are available to distributors. Also, there is no pic available. As soon as I get a pic, I will be glad to post it or get the webmaster to post it. I am told the tread has undergone a subtle design change via CADCAM. The production run that was just recently completed was a production test to determine if the process had any unforseen problems and to test curing times. I have no idea what the price will be. I am not a tire genius and did not mean to be trying to give that impression. I was just lucky to have a friend who works there and he was nice enough to keep me informed. I was mainly trying to let anyoneone who was interested in the Vampire know that a 28" was coming out soon and if they were considering a 27", that they might want to wait until December.

Hey BONER!,

I'm running the 27x12x12 Vamps on my 1999 Foreman 450S right now and they are the best thing out now! I don't care what anyone else says, the Vamps are BEST in the kinda mud I ride in! If someone thinks it important enough to bring a machine with other treads to my place and prove me wrong then I'll change my mind. To me the only thing that could possibly top the 27x12x12 Vampires would be a radically redesigned, bad ****, kick ya mamma in the teeth, VAMPIRE, that'll spit mud like a 'possum on a lemon!!!

Go Vamps!

"LOCK 'EM AND LEAVE'EM!!!"

P.S. Boner I'll have to wait and see hoe much the new ones will set me back and if they're worth it. And by the way the set I got only have about 30 hours on them (Working on the road is heck!!!)

I am tring to get the Atv connectin staff to do a comparison between the 28" Vamps and the 27" Magnums since they already have them on a Sportsman RSE. If you want them to do this comparison e-mail them at: atvstaff@atving.com

I had the 26 Vamps on my Sportsman 500 and with the extra hp from the larger carb and air intake I snapped 6 u-joints. I cannot see anybody having any long term use out of LARGER Vamps, without tearing something up! Be careful of the weight and superior traction.

I say that 28" with lugs like that is overkill for the average Joe. They would be great for souped up mud quads, but I wouldn't need anything that big. Too much sacrifice in ride and steering for the kind of improvement in traction you would get.

I have had my vamps for about half a year now and I'm the kinda guy that puts at least 10 hours on it per week. I ride alot. I have had no problems concerning the bigger tires. Everyone told me that I would bust a drive shaft and all that crap but actually it has went pretty good so far(knock on wood). I want that 500 rubicon and if I get it I'm probably going to have to get the 28 inch vamp kit.

I went buy Texarkana Honda after KirkD4 mentioned they had some. They are wanting $134.95 a piece! The 28" was beside a 26 x 12 and the difference seemed to be the lugs or teeth on the edge of the tire was smaller and the main lugs are smaller from the center to the edge, as you would expect from a more narrow tire. Basically, it is a very similar tread design. It is heavy. But I believe a 500 can turn them. Now, when a wheel is mounted, I may retract that .

I saw the new picture on highlifters website of the 28'' vampire. It looks pretty swampish!!! Those grips are about twice as tall as the older vampires. They look about as wide as my 24X9-11 vamps. I really think a 500 with aluminum wheels could handle them about like my 300 would handle 26'' vampires and thats not too according to the people that have the 26's. I only have 25's and I can still ge the front end off the ground when I shift. The 28's are gonna be on every 500 and up atv before long if they want to even have a chance. It would be hard to follow a 28'' vampire equipped quad on hardpack because of the ruts those tires would dig. They are awesome. Check them out on the highlifter site.
