Do you have the 25X9.5 all the way around, or just in the front. I just switched from 9's on the front and 9.5's on the rear to 9.5's on the front to 12's on the rear.

I also have to agree, turning in reverse is tough. Why is this so??

I have 25x9.5x12's all the way around. I switched the rears. I used to have 12's on the back and swithced to the narrower 9.5's. I have not noticed any problem in backing up. Once, when I first had the 12's on the back I was in some deep gumbo, where you could not see my floor boards and I was at the base of an incline. I had stopped and even in low, I could not go forward, but could back out. So, I have not experienced that. About 50% of those I ride with go prescribe to the narrow rear tire and 50% go with the wider tire. Do you have a full length skid plate? Just guessing, but you may be gouging the center of the ruts with the frame instead of "skidding" and sliding over. But, I am not sure.

 

I didn't clarify myself. With the locker in the front, I find that turning while backing is more difficult.

I don't know if it is the wider tires in the rear or the extra length on the lugs that has helped, but one or the other has improved the mud performance of my quad by about 30%. The 9.5's that I had on the rear were worn about 50% according to Interco.

I understand what you mean about the locker, now. But, I don't know why. Highlifter or Tree Farmer or Kagey or Gordon will probably know.
I have been to and really enjoyed Wolfpen Gap. Saw a lady roll his new Grizzly off the mountain! Someone told me, this weekend, that part or a lot of it was now closed due to erosion. Have you heard that? I wonder if it is true?

I've been once and there were a few closed areas. My son and I rode for about five hours. The sharp rocks in the creek beds did a number on my old vamps. Several of the lugs had large 'plugs' taken out of them, but it just added character to the looks.

There weren't very many people riding while we were up. It was June or July of this year if I rember.

As far as floating goes add a buoy (meduim size) to the front of the bike, with some bungee cors. Mount the buoy from horizanly (-) not verticaly (
