Best tread pattern for rock crawling?
#1
My Mini Baja team races in the midwest usually so we just run mud terrains but this year we're going to Arizona so the chance of a muddy track is pretty low. The majority of the competition is on a dirt moto cross track but there is also a rock crawling competition. We cannot change tires between events. What would you recommend?

id say those maxxis bighorns they look really solid for that kind of stuff...or if its sports quads id say H-D's cause there really tough with good side lugs to pull ya up those rocks

Explain what a "mini Baja team" is, and what kind of machines you ride.
I go rock crawling with my Ranchers, and I run ITP Holeshot ATR's on 12X7" rims. Handling is superb, given that the Ranchers have a very low center of gravity. Most people would be astounded at how well a 2wd Rancher does!

All teams are required to use the same 10hp Briggs. No modifications allowed per the rules, which sucks but we can still squeeze 30mph out of the cars.

All Tracs are light, ride real good on hard pack, and with all the little treads, it grabs rocks real good, a lot of hare scramble racers use them, for the multi - terrain they run into.
