Default Mudhooks. OH YEAH!

Got them ordered today, cost me $301.01 for the whole set including tax. Local guy got me a helluva deal on them, now I hope to get them by Friday, then I'm gonna go hit those holes I couldn't get through before.
Oh YEAH! LET'S GET IT ON!

Default Mudhooks. OH YEAH!

Not much info on official site.
Hopefully I'll be able to put these to the test this weekend.

Default Mudhooks. OH YEAH!

If you look in my profile I've got a couple of shots of the tires. I didn't get to weigh them yet, but it feels like the rears are in the 20-25lb range. Lighter than a 25" vamp atleast. I would have got some shots of all four mounted but I broke my bead breaker (well bent the base then broke the handle). It's amazing how hard it is to get those damn dumblops off. Now getting that 6ply beaster mounted was a knuckle, wrist, and ankle busting nightmare. That was just one rear tire! Please don't ask, as some embarrassing things don't need to be told in public. I'll have tires weighed and mounted tonight, w/ pictures and results tonight. It's been raining off and on the whole week so I'll be able to test and review them this weekend.

Default Mudhooks. OH YEAH!

This just in. The rears weigh 33 and the fronts weigh 28. Best I could tell from a scale anyway. They measure 26 1/4" up front and 25 3/4" rear but something tells me I am off on the precision due to tread. Only got 5 min of time with them but initial impression is WOW. They hooked up extremely well in the leaf/2" mud I was riding in. Had a real hard time getting to break lose in 4wd. 2wd sent fist sized mudballs past my head. The clutches definitely don't like these tires. Don't know if I need an adjustment or an actual clutch kit, but will do more testing tomorrow. Will have a more formal review w/ some vids hopefully tomorrow. One thing to note, it's actually easier to steer on these tires than the stockers .

I've got some good pics in my profile, after approval check them out.

Default Mudhooks. OH YEAH!

Just took the Hooks out on their maiden voyage. I'm quit impressed so far. They are quite a heavy/aggressive tire but they don't completely take out the sport feel, I find less steering effort w/ these than I do the stockers whether it be slow technical or mid paced trails. They don't do too bad at speed, but at 25mph they start to develop a bad out of balance wobble, but should clear up when you get up to 35mph or so, but I never took them over 30. From 8-15mph they make the whole bike feel like a rolling vibrator, but it's not too bad. I'm very pleased w/ the tires so far. Got 20 miles on them tonight over several different types of terrain (mud, grass, sand, asphalt, gravel, hills) and they hooked up on everything, unfortunately I couldn't find any good holes. I rode around in 2wd most of the night when before I wouldn't have dared try it on the stockers. I was tearing up some hills in 2wd and the tires were literally hopping. The rears would get a bite and hop a few inches, grab for a turn or so and hop again. Overall I'm very happy w/ my choice so far. Tomorrow I'm gonna go find some good holes and see how they really do.
