Default macpherson struts good or bad

i have a beartracker and i was washing it the other day and i thought wow those macpherson struts systems dont seem very strong, that one little A arm that they have seem like it was mad fron flattened pop cans, can i jump my beartracker like 6 0r 7 feet without worrying about breaking the front suspension

thanks, kyle

Hello UltimateAussie. Seems that the strut has the advantage that the bump forces are transmitted directly into the shock to be absorbed. Whereas a double a-arm has the forces transmitted through ball joints, then through at least one of the a-arms prior to being absorbed by the shock. This puts forces on most all of the joints in the a-arms.
I hope this helps you
