You can look at an exploded parts diagram immediately in the parts catalog at www.buykawasaki.com; however, I think you could use a service manual as well. When you get to your sprocket bolt, an impact wrench works wonders.

I have done the same thing 3 Times. My chain popped off and broke the stud where the sprocket guard bolts to the cover.
The transmission cover is about $25 or $30 from Kawasaki. As far as getting the nut off, you have to bend the tabs on the washer that keep the nut from turning and back the nut off.(I just put mine in gear and loosened it, be careful not to put too much pressure on it or you could mess up the transmission.
To keep this from happening again, you can cut the bottom mount for the sprocket cover off and grind it as flush with the front of the cover as possible, I did this and have had the chain pop off twice since with no damage.

Ask if you need any more info.

I'm sure you are, but are you turning the wrench the right way?? It is regular threads, not left handed.

Again, I'm not saying you are stupid, just thought I would check.

And put something infront of the tires to keep them from turning.

To get mine off my 250r, I got a breaker bar, which did like yours and turned the axle, so I put it in 1st, had a friend sit on it and lock up the rear brakes. That worked

I'm trying to remember...I think it was just the chain guard stud. I'll look tonight and let you know for sure. I know I left the top stud so I could bolt the guard back on, but I'll check on the other.

I ground both of the studs on the bottom off, i think they were connected by some metal.
