Default Stock Wheel, Aftermarket tire

It seems as though most aftermartket tires (not all) in the 12" size seem to be designed for a 12x7 rim. Is there any problem taking a tire like that and putting it on my stock rims which happen to be 12x6 front and 12x7.5 rear. Thanks

Not really. Putting it on a narrower rim than called for can cause the center of the tread to bow up a little making the tire a little taller than normal. A wider rim does the opposite, it can make the tire a little shorter and the sidewall doesn't stick out as much. You can adjust all this through air pressure. Many 4x4 trucks used off-road use rims narrower than specified due to the fact that the sidewall bulges out more and this protects the rim better from rock damage. And there is not much diference between a 12x7 and a 12x7.5. I wouldn't worry about it.

I was wondering this same thing. I know in cars and trucks, its not such a big deal, espescially 1/2". I was thinking about getting Mudlite XTR's for my Foreman. I was thinking that just getting the factory rims coated or painted black and using aftermarket tires on the factory wheels.
