Freezing hubs
#1
Fellow ATV owners,
Anyone have tips on the best way to keep your front wheel hubs from freezing up in cold weather. Had this happen to me for the first time this past weekend here in SE Texas when the temperature dropped to 22 degrees. I must admit that I let a year pass since I took the hubs off and performed preventative maintenance on the front brake assembly. Did this yesterday and really did not find them is very bad shape. Cleaned and greased everything well and will see if it helps.
Thanks.

Yes, we deal with this problem often in the north. It's a good idea to use water proof grease on all the surfaces of moving parts such as drum seals, bearings, mating surfaces and shafts. I don't know how the heck you're gonna keep all the water out but regular servicing and constant use is a plus. And be happy you have a quad to work on... :0)
