Default Swamp fox vs. Mud Lites for recon

I'm looking at getting a Recon for my wife and a Rancher for me. I can get Mudlites for the Rancher in the stock sizes, but not for the Recon. I am thinking of getting Swamp Fox's for the Recon, b/c they are available in the factory sizes. I've read good reports on the Mudlites, but don't know much about the Swamp Fox tires. How well do they do in mud?, how is the ride on a hard trail?, how does it affect handling?

Any issues with either tire that I should know?

P.S. I'm a noobie on ATV's.

The only thing i know about Mudlites, is they wear down fast. But the mudlite XTRs are supposed to be better. The Swamp Fox tires have caught my eye a couple times as well. They look like a good tire

I went with mud lites due to weight for a 250 cc. I can't find my print outs, but I saved a couple lbs a tire, wich helps performance (what there is on my 250"s) Your recon probably has more go than my Yamaha 250's. Traction is greatly improved over stock. I heard many reports about wear, I am 6 months in on mine so it is too early to tell. The kids put 3-4 hours week on the T-wolf and BearTracker, and no problems soo far. I got a great price at SW MOTO tires.

Swamp Fox's are good however Dirt Devils are claimed to be a tad better. Both have 1/2 inch tread depth. If you want something a little better than that then check out Mud Gear. They have a tread pattern very similar to Dirt Devils but offer a deeper tread. On 25 in tires the tread is 3/4 in deep.
