O-ring chain worth the added cost?
#2
The only place to run a non-o-ring is on an MX bike or farm equipment.
I would want to feel like I did right by the next owner, and if he knows anything at all he will prefer to have an 0-ring chain. On the other hand, if you are up front about it needing a chain and sprocket, and leave it up to the new owner to do what they want, that seems ok as well.....

Either that or let them know when they're looking at it that it needs one. May have to knock a little off the price.
And if you do change it, might as well do the front sprocket as well.

I would let the new owner fix it... let them buy the chain they want and the sprockets they want.. and just ask $50 less. By you replacing the parts, the money and time you spend won't warrant a much higher price.
You should always put fresh sprockets when you replace the chain... and honestly.. unless you are racing... do not get the Aluminum sprockets... Get STEEL Ones.. slightly heavier.. but last much longer!
