Default Wheel Spacers

Hey Everyone,

Ive been looking into widening my QS230 recently and I think Im going to go the wheel spacer route, atleast for now. Ive found the ones I want (CRJ Performance) but I have a few questions; do I need to worry about bending my stock axle with an extra 1.5" on each side? and what size stud do I need? Im pretty sure its a 10mm but just wanted to check. lastly, will my front end suspension get messed up alot? (its set up a little hard now anyway)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See my reply in your post about wheels.

ITP rims are 1" wider than stock and have a 1" greater offset. Combine that with some tires that are wider than stock, and I end up about +4" in back and +3" in front.

Wheel spacers can bring on weird things, like bump steer for instance.......

hmmm... I never thought about bumpsteer. I think what I'm actually going to do is run spacers on the back, and extend my a-arms like JustRandy's machine.

Default Wheel Spacers

i was looking for some wheel spacer and found the solid aluminum 1.5 or 2" that just bolt onto your lugs and they have the same lug pattern on them for your rims , but they were $$$$$$$$ so after searching for the cheapest i found on ebay a guy that mashines sets but they are single studs 1" 2" oe 2 1/5" on each side the key to these is they are machined from a single peice of metal and the machine threaded for your atv.that is what makes them so strong im not for sure but i think that they may have a lifetime warenty?????? but any ways i bought the 2 1/2" giveing me a total od 5" all around and the best part for 2 sets front and back i think it was aroun 50 bucks for both and he will combine shipping if you want front and back. i have a 500 honda rubicon and the wheel spacers have held up so far i even tried to bend them by ridding on the side like a sidewards wheely. so check ebay but they arnt on all the time but at least ever 2 to 3 weeks he is. let me know if you cant find them......oh and now i need some 3" wider fender skirts or some sort of mud blocker because the mud is everywhere so if anuone can help with that i would appreciate it

Well I am about to put some 28x10x12's on my 800 Polaris and going to need to run 1.5" spacers. So are they really that bad or do I need to not go with that wide of a tire up front?

Spacers are good, but there is a bad thing about them, they can wear out suspension components like ball joints. Just make sure your suspension is greased up well to prevent parts from wearing out quicker than normal.
