Which is Lighter?
#1
12" ITP 112 SS with 26" Bighorns or 14" ITP SS with 26" Bighorns. Maxxis website state the tires weigh less, but can't find anything on the wheels. If the 14" setup weighs less than the 12" I'll go that direction, if not, I'll go with 25" Bighorns on 12's.

It's basically a toss-up. Go to www.denniskirk.com and put the wheels you want and the 12" Bighorns in your "cart". (They must not have 14" Bighorns.)(I went to www.maxxis.com for the 14" Bighorn weights.) I've noticed that DennisKirk must weigh each and every wheel and tire (and I assume other items) that they sell. The weights they list are close, but not exactly what the manufacturer lists...and in fact, they seem to be right on with tires and wheels that I've weighed myself. Different bolt patterns/hole sizes in wheels will weigh slightly different, but here is what I found:
14"x6" ITP 112 13.20 lbs. 26x9R14 Bighorn 22.9 lbs. Total - 36.10 lbs.
14"x8" ITP 112 14.66 lbs. 26x11R14 Bighorn 27.7 lbs. Total - 42.36 lbs.
14"x7" ITP 112 10.75 lbs. 26x9R12 Bighorn 25.5 lbs. Total - 36.25 lbs.
14"x7" ITP 112 10.75 lbs. 26x12R12 Bighorn 32.87 lbs. Total - 43.62 lbs. (1" wider though)
I noticed the 26x12R12 Bighorn is listed at 30.6 lbs. on maxxis.com and 32.87 lbs. at denniskirk.com. Hard to say which is correct...probably neither. Maxxis probably used the lightest tire in a batch and Dennis Kirk probably had a box in there too. It may not be exact, but it gives you an idea. Bottom line, I doubt you'll notice the difference in weight. Other factors (looks, sidewall squish, etc.) might be bigger considerations.
Good Luck
