Default maxxis bighorns or itp terracross?

Alright guys, I'm looking to purchase a new set of tires for my polaris sportsman and I was wondering ya'lls opinion on which would be the better choice, either bighorns or terra cross? I do a little bit of everything on my rides, anywhere from casual riding to tearing up a mud hole or two. If you all suggest anything else that would be great too. Thanks!

good thread I am also looking into getting a new set of rims and tires this summer for my sportsman. the factory that came with it were good all around tires (I feel anyways) I also do a variety of riding from hills to mud to packed dirt trails and also work (pulling trees, food plots for hunting, setting up stands and blonds for hunting)

Yeah they were good overall tires. I currently have some Itp mudlight xt's on there but I'm getting tired of getting my brains beat out of my head lol so it's time for some radials. I have already have some rims picked out. I chose the Motorsport alloy crushers.

Granted its just one man's review, but he was honest to his opinion and has made me seconds guess dropping that much $$$ on bighorns now. The cheap bias ply dirt devil or bear claw route just keeps getting more and more attractive.

I agree. I actually checked up on a set of bear claws after reading that. I am still leaning towards the terracross though. The big horns are out of the picture for me I do believe.

As noted, that is just one mans review and everyone has their own opinions and riding style. That is one of the few bad reviews I have read on Bighorns. My personal experience with them has been outstanding. Great handling and ride on hard pack and even better in the rocks. Also a great snow tire and will run 5,000 miles or more before needing replaced. My opinion on them is that it is hard to find a better value for your money. I know there are those who will disagree, but I'm just stating my personal experiences with them.

Post Re:

Terracrosses are the way to go. I have over a 1000 miles on mine and they work perfectly still. They work good for all different types of terrain. I've had no problems with mine that is what i recommend.
