i am about to buy some works dual rate with resivoir for my 2+1 a-arms that i am going to get. its for a 1986 suzuki lt250R. the guy asked me if i wanted threaded preload. is it worth it or im i just gonna waste my money??????

 

In my opinion, if you are getting the shocks built for your riding style and weight and if the reservoirs have a compression damping adjustment on them, you shouldn't need any preload adjustment.

 

YES!!! If you don't have this, it's almost a waste...when you get bettre, you will regret you didn't take the threaded preload! To me, it's as important as the reservoirs. Not only do I want a shock to work fine in hard conditoins, but I want to be able to set it up later!

preload sets your sag, I keep mine at a constant level, but other people might prefer to adjust theres for different riding styles or weight changes.

 

i agree. definately go with the threaded preload. You will be glad that you did.
