I have a 1987 yamaha atv it would not come out of high range forward or reverse. the gars appear to have locked together. It would not idle so I cleaned the carb and fixed that. The next time I drove it I had high range and reverse but only for about 10 feet. It stopped and would not move. the revs go up alittle it feels like it is binding so I do not push it. My question is if there is a different oil use in the tranny and where I add it at. I found a round screw about the size of a quarter right behind the range selector. I can see down into
the crankcase. I see remnants of what look like there was oil. But no oil in sight. Is this where I add the tranny oil and what kind and how much.

Thanx shiftless

How much oil it takes might depend on what model you have.

Thanx but I was looking for answers to the other questions. I have a manual, but not for my model.
