Did I err buying Dune Sliders for my wife's 400EX?
#1
I bought a set of Dune Sliders on rims off of the internet used. I really didn't know that much about them, but the pictures looked ok. Anyway the tires show up and, even though they are on aluminum rims, they weigh a ton.
1. Are these good performing dune tires?
2. Will my wife's bone stock 400EX pull them?
These tires are on 8" rims. By comparison, my Sand Skate 2s on 10" Aluminum rims are far lighter. The bottom line is "Did I err buying Dune Sliders for my wife's 400EX?"

Yes, you made a mistake!! If you go to Glamis, Dumont, or Pismo, the most common tire you see is the Skat-Trak. These are the people who ride big sand all the time, so they know. I was trying to politely suggest that you return them and get Skat-Traks (with at least 8 paddles). If you can't return them, well hey then you're stuck with them anyway. Why bother asking us?? Just put them on and go out and see for yourself if the bike will pull them!!

Here in MI at Silver Lake almost everyone uses Skat-Traks. Other brands are just posers, although the new Maxxis Roosters look promising. The other brands do help keep Skat-Trak's pricing in line though. I run 9 paddle Haulers on my Warrior, mounted on Douglas Blue Labels, and it flies, at least as much as a Warrior can. Return them if you can, or post an ad yourself.
