Tire and wheel upgrade for 2002 grizzly
#1
Any suggestions for a larger tire/wheel kit for the 2002 griz? i am using itp 27 inch xt's on 2 new honda rubicons and am happy with their performance. does itp make a wheel that fits the new grizzly (given the deep offset) on which a 27 inch tire could be mounted?

Gunnerman,
I would keep the stock rims on...They're aluminum and light. My friend has 27" tires mounted on his stock Grizz rims. You can check out some pictures at: photos.yahoo.com/mudgrizz

just finished installing a set of itp chrome wheels with the new mt titans 27 inch. short test drive around my house pulled them very easy . felt very more solid and stable up the shocks one preload setting
too 3. know more after test ride the machine only has 17 miles so only using half thottle. hope to find little mud tommorow to crawl over. i don't even think i need a pipe and jet kit this think could proable handle 28 but the 27 look real nice chrome with the silver paint. went from about 43 wide on the rear too 47 . they are making ft rims for the rear the dish is the same 2/5 all around.

GERRBEAR,
I checked out you photos, awesome machine! I noticed the rear view mirror you have.
Where did you buy this? Did you have to drill and tap your grips for the mounting? I have a small mirror mounted on my front rack, it works but this one looks great. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

SNOWPLOW,
My friend and I have similar type mirrors. They're called "bar-end" mirrors. There's no drilling or tapping involved. They slide into the open end of the handle bar. Providing you cut a little hole in the rubber grips. It's basicaly a bolt with a sleeve around it. As you tighten the bolt, the sleeve expands inside your handle bar. Mirror can go left or right.
Here's an online catalog which you can check... goto:
www.motovan.com select "catalogs", then "ATV 2002", then goto page 164. You'll see a few there. This is a Canadian distributor. So I'm not sure about the U.S. You might also want to checkout www.highlifter.com/.

Get you some 27inch vampires. These tires are awsome my buddy has some on his praire 650 this things are great he's always pulling our buds out of mud holes that he has no trouble gettng through. Most of them run titan 589's and Blackwater's.

I've been using the 27" Titan AT 589's for a just over 1 year now, and I have been very impressed with them! I've gone up against many other tires on the same terrain, and none of them did better then I did! All things being equal, these tires have been great! In fact I've gone up against many of the "bad" mud tires and come out on top most of the time. Equaled many times, but never beaten! The 589's are a sturdy tire that can do almost anything you ask of them! At least thats been my experience.
